Cedric and I meet at work in 2006. He has been a sailor since he was 15 and I had no clue about sailing until we met.
In 2008 he bought a boat and left Los Angeles to sail around the world, something that to me sounded not only crazy but also impossible. We broke up and he left. However, we kept in contact until he convinced me to take vacation and come and sail. I thought, why not? let’s give it a try it is only month vacation, I love traveling and he was in the Pacific where I had never been.
To make the story short, the month vacation later translated into me stopping work and joining Cedric and Thira (the boat) to go sailing all the way to France, where Cedric is from. When the trip was finished we continued our lives together on land.
During that trip, we took lots of pictures and have lots of stories, but they are only registered in our minds and some might have even disappeared already. Allways when we talk to people either sailors or no sailors they tell us to write a book. Cedric always passed that task to me, I took it seriously couple of years back and decided to start and write, I had some drafts in my personal computer which got stolen so I lost the work, got discouraged and never got time to go back to it.
This time we want to make it different, we plan the trip together and we want to keep some record of it, so that’s why we are creating this blog. To share some of the stories on the things that happen when you leave live on land and start sailing around the world. I’m not sure if we/I ever get to write the book but for now we want to share our stories mainly to family and friends.
